In the 1930’s Momma, (Geri Ramsey Davis) managed the famous Peoples Drug Store Soda Fountain, located on City Hall Avenue, in downtown Norfolk. Daddy (Anthony James Mirabile Sr.) washed dishes right up the street where his Brother Danny worked on the grill.

The hotdog and chili recipe we serve at Joey’s today is made with the very same ingredients which were used in 1939. In fact the key ingredients are still purchased from the same companies which are also family operated businesses.
