Joey's Hot Dogs
Richmond Magazine

Welcome to Joey's Hot Dogs where tradition meets modern culture. Our hot dogs are made the old fashioned way using the very same techniques and recipes which have been passed down through generations of the Mirabile family since the 1930's. We understand that dietary needs have changed over the years and we have developed a delightful menu of healthy alternatives to ensure we are able to please a wide variety of our customers' needs.

A visit to Joey's is like stepping back into a time almost forgotten in America. We pride ourselves in delivering a wholesome customer experience that you simply will not find anywhere else today. The fast food evolution and rapid growth of technology over the past several decades have created a desensitized culture in restaurants. At Joey's we believe that we can provide fast and friendly service while still taking the time to be personable. So please step up, give us your name, and tell us what you want. We will do our very best to remember you the next time you come in.

HOT DOG HISTORY: The first words Mickey Mouse ever spoke in a cartoon were "hot dogs" (in The Karnival Kid, 1929). Story Line - Mickey is selling hot dogs at a carnival next to the tent for Minnie the Shimmy Dancer. He gets into an argument with the barker. Minnie beckons him over to her trailer; he shows off the tricks his pups have been trained to do, and she picks one. It climbs onto the bun but runs away when she bites in. Later that evening, Mickey plays guitar and two cats sing outside Minnie's window.
